چکیده

The effectiveness of a beam-riding missile is greatly influenced by the mutual effect of noise and non-linearities. The former is mostly due to radar jitter, while the principal non-linearity is that introduced by limiting the lateral acceleration of the missile to a safe value. For the beam-riding system discussed in this paper the degree of saturation is such that the linear analysis is inadequate, and account must be taken of the non-linearity. With certain assumptions, the system can be described analytically: further approximations lead to optimum values of the disposable parameters for obtaining the minimum miss distance. The analysis shows that, while optimum values of the parameters can be specified for a restricted class of target trajectories, a more detailed study of likely target manoeuvres is necessary before an overall optimum can be defined.

Application of Non-Linear Time-Domain RF Simulations to Longitudinal Emittance Studies for the LHC

A non-linear time-domain simulation has been developed that can determine technical limitations, effects of non-linearities and imperfections, and impact of additive noise on the interaction of the beam with the Impedance Control Radio Frequency (RF) systems [1]. We present a formalism for the extraction of parameters from the timedomain simulation to determine the sensitivity of the beam longi...

Effect of random telegraph noise on entanglement and nonlocality of a qubit-qutrit system

We study the evolution of entanglement and nonlocality of a non-interacting qubit-qutrit system under the effect of random telegraph noise (RTN) in independent and common environments in Markovian and non-Markovian regimes. We investigate the dynamics of qubit-qutrit system for different initial states. These systems could be existed in far astronomical objects. A monotone decay of the nonlocalit...

Design and Construction of a Seismometer Based on the Moiré Technique: Detailed Theoretical Analysis, Experimental Apparatus, and Primary Results

We have built a vertical seismometer that works based on the moiré technique. One grating is attached to the suspended mass and one to the frame of the instrument. The two gratings are in relative motion, and the resulting moiré pattern magnifies this motion. The intensity of a light beam passing through the moving moiré fringes changes with time, and a light detecting syst...

System identification of a beam with frictional contact

The nonlinear system becomes an area with numerous investigations over the past decades. The conventional modal analysis could not be  applied on nonlinear continuous system which makes it impossible to construct the reduced order models and obtain system response based on limited number of measurement points. Nonlinear normal modes provide a useful tool for extending modal analysis to nonlinea...
